Geen vering = geen gewicht. De 8X Lite Tour is een sportieve toerfiets met een onberispelijke afmontage. Met de Deore XT-aandrijving, schijfremmen en uiterst heldere Busch+Müller-verlichting weegt de fiets slechts 12,5 kg. Alles is erop gericht om u vooruit te helpen, naar het reisdoel van vandaag of tot voorbij de horizon. Is dat wat te ver voor u? Voor deze fiets is dat geen probleem!

Technologie

Integrated Pannier Rack Mount dropout

In collaboration with pannier rack specialists Tubus and Racktime STEVENS' engineers have developed a dropout that also serves as an elegant pannier rack mount. It not only looks fantastic, it also ensures that forces caused by luggage or large amounts of groceries are evenly transmitted inot the frame - resulting in a more stable and safer design.

Even when you can't see the strut that connects the pannier rack to the fender - it is there. The strut runs below the fender and provides - in connection with the rack mounted to the fender - more stability and lateral stiffness.

IQ-X Scheinwerfer

Die Scheinwerfer-Modellreihe IQ-X von Busch + Müller macht es mit ihrer neu entwickelten Lichttechnologie erstmals möglich, mit einem Dynamoscheinwerfer die 100-Lux-Marke zu knacken – und das mit einer sehr breiten, weiten und homogenen Großflächen-Ausleuchtung der Straße. Die kleinere, elegantere XS-Version bringt es immer noch auf stolze 70 Lux. Für rekordverdächtig hell gleißendes Licht (150 Lux!) sorgt hingegen der IQ-X E-Scheinwerfer, den wir am Lenker unseres schnellen S-Pedelecs Triton 45 anbringen.

QR15-Steckachse vorn

Die „15“ steht für den Achsdurchmesser, das „QR“ für „Quick Release“, also Schnellspanner – und zusammen für die funktionellste Methode, das Vorderrad in der (Feder-)Gabel zu verankern. Die Vorteile sind bestechend: hohe Steifigkeit, präzise Bremsscheiben-Positionierung und kinderleichte Bedienung. Also stattet STEVENS fast alle Mountainbikes und sogar die hochwertigsten Trekking-, Crossbikes und Pedelecs damit aus. Vor allem bei den 29“-MTBs wird sogar noch die Einbaubreite erhöht – von 100 auf 110 mm, das ist noch steifer.

Trunnion-Mount Dämpfer

Systemlaufräder

Der neue Montage-Standard für Dämpfer kommt bei den neuen E-Fullys zum Einsatz, wo sein Hauptvorteil besonders willkommen ist: Er spart ca. 25 mm Einbaulänge und ermöglich somit (bei gegebenen Platzverhältnissen) die Verwendung eines Dämpfers mit längerer Luftkammer – also mehr Hub und besserer Performance. Oder es kann die Überstandshöhe des Oberrohres verringert werden, weil ein kürzerer Dämpfer nicht so viel Platz braucht.

Tapered Seat Tube

The seat tube tapers from top to bottom. At the top it fits a slim 27.2mm seatpost that offers some flex and therefore increases comfort especially when riding over rough ground. At the bottom the large diameter nicley flows into the bottom bracket shell and downtube to provide great stiffness and drivetrain efficiency.

Hydroforming

Using water or oil pressure aluminium tubes are transformed from their original round shape into their ideal shape determined by STEVENS engineers to perfectly withstand any load without any weight penalty. Riders of allround bikes and pedelecs will benefit from a better stability caused by hydroforming even when they are touring with heavy luggage.

SPF Superlite Rigid Fork

SPF stands for "Super Plastic Forming" which allows the manufacturing of large and complex parts like bike forks in one single piece. This way there's only a few welds between the fork shaft and legs. This makes the fork very light and laterally stiff. Yet it's equipped with everything that makes a versatile rigid fork: Lowrider rack eyelets, QR-15 axle mount and tapered shaft for high lateral stiffness.

Tapered Steerer / Tapered Headtube

Fork shaft (or steerer tube) and head tube are tapered, meaning their diameter increases from top to bottom resulting in a conical shape. The diameter needs to be bigger at the bottom since this is where higher stress is applied - especially when the bike has a higher total weight due to luggage or an e-drive and battery. Also tapered steerers feature a smoother force transfer (like forces caused by hard braking) to the downtube than forks with a continuous 1 1/8" diameter.

Triple Butted, Double Butted

Meaning a frame tube has three or two different wall thicknesses along its length. Triple butted (TB) is the usual technology with STEVENS high-quality frames.
Tubes with different wall thicknesses are optimally adjusted to certain ways of manufacturing or to withstand specific loads. Where the highest loads occur or where tubes are welded, walls are the thickest. Butted tubes allow frame weight to be lower by several hundred grams.

Smooth Welded

Additional step in welding. The first, rippled weld, typical for aluminium, is covered with a second smoother weld. This not only improves looks but also lowers the risk of notches in this spot, which makes the frames more durable.

Hydraulic Disc Brakes (Trekking)

There is no more reliable brake system than hydraulic disc brakes - that is why we strongly advice everyone, who is riding their cross, trekking- or city bike 12 months a year to choose one of our models with the „DISC“ suffix. Brake power is easy to modulate and does not fade a bit in the wet. Also the brakes are almost maintenance-free. And your local STEVENS dealer will gladly explain to you what you need to take care of when removing and re-installing a wheel

De X8 is voortreffelijk: de fiets heeft een sportieve maar evengoed ontspannen zithouding; de rijeigenschappen zijn vlot, maar altijd stabiel; de zijdelingse stijfheid en het fietscomfort zijn hoog.
