One less excuse.

The daily way to work will become shorter - or more fun. The new STEVENS E-Antelao increases the potential of a capable e-hardtail - with a powerful Bosch Performance CX motor, an elegantly integrated PowerTube 500 battery and 29" wheels - by adding a full set of street-legal accessories (lights, fenders) and even a frame lock. The daily way to work will now lead through forests, parks, gravel roads or even real trails ...

  • Sportive E-MTB w/ all necessary ingredients for commuting: lights, mudguards, kickstand
  • Bosch Performance Line CX system plus reliable Shimano Deore 10-speed drivetrain
  • Frame integrated 500 Wh battery for touring-capable range
  • 100 mm suspension fork w/ tapered steerer + thru-axle
  • Precise Shimano disc brakes (180/180 mm)

Technology

Boost-Standard Fork

What is right for the rear wheel is even more important at the front wheel - because steering precision matters. This is why STEVENS uses suspension forks and hubs with extra wide axle spacing for all its fullies, as well as for the trail rocket Sonora and the alloy-hardtails Colorado and Sentiero. These 110mm of axle spacing are called "Boost" or "Plus" and stand for lots of added lateral stiffness plus space for extra wide studded tires.

Boost Rear Axle Spacing

Since model year 2016 the rear stays of all STEVENS fullies adhere to the new "Boost" or "Plus" standard with 148 mm axle spacing. And there are good reasons for that. Rear wheel stiffness increases by 20 % which is especially beneficial in large 29" wheels. And there is more space for voluminous studded tires to give you more control and fun an the trail.

500 Wh Battery

This will decide success or failure of e-mobility. That's why STEVENS uses batteries with a huge 500 Watt-hour capacity in all its top-notch pedelecs for up to 215 km of range (according to the manufacturer, please refer to the Bosch range calculator for more exact results). This is possible even without a weight penalty: Compared to the old PowerPack 400, the new Bosch PowerPack 500 is just 100 grams heavier. This huge "fuel tank" is our premier recommendation for pedelec riders who don't shy away from the hilliest of itineraries.

Hydroforming

Using water or oil pressure aluminium tubes are transformed from their original round shape into their ideal shape determined by STEVENS engineers to perfectly withstand any load without any weight penalty. This means better steering precision on the trail and higher longevity.

Integrated Tail Light

Integrated Tail Light in mudguard

A tail light cannot be integrated into the mudguard in a more elegant way. Of course it's absolutely street legal.

Tapered Steerer / Tapered Headtube

Fork shaft (or steerer tube) and head tube are tapered, meaning their diameter increases from top to bottom resulting in a conical shape. The diameter needs to be bigger at the bottom since this is where higher stress is applied - especially when the bike has a higher total weight due to luggage or an e-drive and battery. Also tapered steerers feature a smoother force transfer (like forces caused by hard braking) to the downtube than forks with a continuous 1 1/8" diameter.

Triple Butted, Double Butted

Meaning a frame tube has three or two different wall thicknesses along its length. Triple butted (TB) is the usual technology with STEVENS high-quality frames.
Tubes with different wall thicknesses are optimally adjusted to certain ways of manufacturing or to withstand specific loads. Where the highest loads occur or where tubes are welded, walls are the thickest. Butted tubes allow frame weight to be lower by several hundred grams.

QR15 Front Thru-Axle

"15" stands for the diameter in millimeters, "QR" for quick release. Combined they are the most useful method to fix the front wheel to the (suspension) fork. With convincing advantages: high stiffness, precise positioning of the brake disc and super-easy handling. So STEVENS specs almost all its mountain bikes and even high-quality trekking bikes, cross bikes and pedelecs with a thru-axle. Additionally, especially with 29" MTBs axle spacing is increased from 100 to 110 mm which makes the design even stiffer.

Tapered Seat Tube

The seat tube tapers from top to bottom. At the top it fits a slim 27.2mm seatpost that offers some flex and therefore increases comfort especially when riding over rough ground. At the bottom the large diameter nicley flows into the bottom bracket shell and downtube to provide great stiffness and drivetrain efficiency.
