A very well-done city bike for everyday riding, says ElektroRad in its February 2015 edition about the STEVENS E-Courier Di2 and awards the Shimano Di2-equipped pedelec with ”very good” mark.
The specs leave nothing to wish for, beginning with the bright head and tail light, continuing with hydraulic disc brakes, finishing kit, complete street kit right to the electronic shifting.
”Despite the low step-through the frame proves to be quite stable.”
The Di2 shifting system’s little servomotor that shifts the eight gears of the Alfine gear hub is actuated by a button at the handlebar – ”very convenient and with flawless function”, the editors write. It also comes in handy that the display of the Bosch Active e-motor suggests the rider when to up- or downshift. The Active Line e-drive’s power is just sufficient for city rides or short tours.
The editors’ intermediate result: ”The E-Courier is specced with great components. Despite the low step-through the frame proves to be quite stable.” Another proof for the E-Courier Disc Di2’s stability is its legal weight limit of 140kg (309lbs) for bike, rider and cargo. The frame geometry allow for a quite comfortable, upright seating position as well as nimble handling. Adding to the riding fun is also a - for pedelecs - low weight of 23.4kg (51.6lbs).
Conclusion: ”The E-Courier is specced with everything a city biker needs. A well-done city bike for everyday riding.”
ElektroRad favourably points out the many different frame shapes and sizes of STEVENS E-Courier Disc Di2. In addition to the tested Forma version with low-step through frame there is also a gents’ (diamond frame) and a ladies’ (trapezoid) variant.
