South America was not an easy task – not even for a bike globetrotter as experienced as Helmut Pucher. “It took me a lot of patience and had to improvise a lot”, the Carinthian summons after 874 hours on the saddle of his STEVENS Prestige cyclo cross bike.

There was no premature brake-up between the test rider and the Ventoux Disc rather the tester ”fell in love with the Ventoux again and again” on their many tours through the German region of the Lower Rhine, Palatinate and the Oden Forrest. One reason for that was the bike’s ”neither to sporty nor too relaxed geometry”.

The impressive crater landscape of the volcanic island of Lanzarote with its black ash slopes, narrow goat paths and demanding single trails was the stage for a special cross country race: the 4 Stage Mountain Bike Race.

Mathieu van der Poel of Team Beobank-Corendon rode like crazy and in superior fashion throughout the race.

Only minutes before it had looked like Sanne Cant of Enertherm-Beobank would finish again “only” on the podium at a World Championship.
