This completely newly developed crossover pedelec literally plays the strongest role in the STEVENS 2021 line-up: The Performance Line CX drive from Bosch, with its 85 Nm in combination with the Shimano Deore XT 12-speed gears, pushes powerfully even when the maximum permissible total weight of 180 kg is on the road. And Schwalbe Marathon Plus MTB tires as well as heavily dimensioned hydraulic disc brakes guarantee a safety plus in every riding situation.
Newly designed crossover pedelec w/ low step-thru but 180 kg of gross vehicle weight
Powerful Bosch G4 Performance Line CX Cruise drive with 625 Wh battery and SmartphoneHub
As soon as you put a smartphone in front of the basic display of the new SmartphoneHub, an enormous information bandwidth opens up for you. It provides you with navigation, supports your fitness training with an optional pulse belt, and even offers the possibility of calling, e-mailing, connecting to social media or livestreaming.
PT6 hollow chamber downtube
The sophisticated construction of the "Forma" frame version culminates in this down tube with triple hollow chamber profile. Its inner values are convincing: space for the large PowerTube625 battery from Bosch, including perfect weather protection. And the necessary stiffness to help the e-bike achieve maximum riding stability and high steering precision with pleasantly low step-through.
Selle Royal eZone saddle
Comfort plus: The Selle Royal eZone saddle, specially designed for e-bikes, stands out due to its high level of seating comfort, solid support (when accelerating) and practical carrying handle.
Suspension Seat Post
This parallelogram seat post provides noticeable spinal relief when riding on rough terrain, because it sensitively responds to smallest bumps in the road. It is adjusted to rider weight using different elastomer inserts.
Bosch PowerTube 625
The largest e-bike battery to date from Bosch is the PowerTube 625. It pushes the pursuit for even longer range to a new level. With an energy content ("capacity") of 625 watt hours, it is good for almost any extended tours you can imagine. To help ensure it stays that way for a long time, we keep it well protected in the voluminous downtube of our top e-bike models.
Speed sensor integrated in the dropout
This view is only available when the rear wheel is removed - otherwise the sensor, which gives the e-bike drive system the decisive information about the current speed, is perfectly integrated and well protected in the rear left dropout. The not so rare error that the incorrectly positioned spoke magnet slows down the motor support is thus combated very effectively.
4-piston disc brakes
The demanding riders of high-end MTBs and touring e-bikes - with or without "E" support - are satisfied with nothing less than the most powerful hydraulic disc brakes in terms of braking performance and riding safety. They have 4 pistons per caliper instead of 2, and their larger brake pads can withstand much more heat, making them almost immune to fading (less friction due to heating).
QR15 Front Thru-Axle (MTB + ATB + Pedelec)
"15" stands for the diameter in millimeters, "QR" for quick release. Combined they are the most useful method to fix the front wheel to the (suspension) fork. With convincing advantages: high stiffness, precise positioning of the brake disc and super-easy handling. So STEVENS specs almost all its mountain bikes and even high-quality trekking bikes, cross bikes and pedelecs with a thru-axle. Additionally, especially with 29" MTBs axle spacing is increased from 100 to 110 mm which makes the design even stiffer.
Dropouts with integrated pannier rack eyelets
In collaboration with pannier rack specialists Tubus/Racktime STEVENS' engineers have developed a dropout that also serves as an elegant pannier rack mount. It not only looks fantastic, it also ensures that forces caused by luggage or large amounts of groceries are evenly transmitted inot the frame - resulting in a more stable and safer design.
Integrated pannier rack strut
Even when you can't see the strut that connects the pannier rack to the fender - it is there. The strut runs below the fender and provides - in connection with the rack mounted to the fender - more stability and lateral stiffness.
Tapered Steerer / Tapered Headtube (ATB+Pedelec)
Fork shaft (or steerer tube) and head tube are tapered, meaning their diameter increases from top to bottom resulting in a conical shape. The diameter needs to be bigger at the bottom since this is where higher stress is applied - especially when the bike has a higher total weight due to luggage or an e-drive and battery. Also tapered steerers feature a smoother force transfer (like forces caused by hard braking) to the downtube than forks with a continuous 1 1/8" diameter.
Triple Butted, Double Butted
Meaning a frame tube has three or two different wall thicknesses along its length. Triple butted (TB) is the usual technology with STEVENS high-quality frames. Tubes with different wall thicknesses are optimally adjusted to certain ways of manufacturing or to withstand specific loads. Where the highest loads occur or where tubes are welded, walls are the thickest. Butted tubes allow frame weight to be lower by several hundred grams.
FEQ
FEQ stands for fully equipped. This means that all STEVENS bikes with the FEQ suffix are fully equipped for touring. This includes racks, mudguards, stands, bell and lights.
Plug in cover
The cover of the USB-C plug in is perfectly integrated into the bike frame. The high quality of the cover ensures a clean, tidy look on the one hand and easy handling on the other. Especially in the sensitive area of the plug in, it is important that it is optimally protected from dirt and other external influences.
