Round 14 of 15 of the UCI Cyclo-Cross World Cup was held this past weekend in Flamanville, France. In the Men U23 category it was Dutch STEVENS rider, Mees Hendrikx (IKO-Crelan) who was able to bring home the U23 UCI World Cup overall win by taking a strong 3rd place at the penultimate round. Leader in the opening stages of the race, Mees was able to grab the Bronce medal after leaving behind fellow countryman Pim Ronhaar in the final stages of the race.

In a strong Women's Elite field it was Dutch STEVENS rider Inge van der Heijden (Team 777) who took a fine 4th place, and her best Elite World Cup finish this season, some 90 seconds behind winner Fem van Empel. STEVENS rider Manon Bakker (IKO-Crelan) would bring home a top 10 finish with a good 7th place. With one round to go, Inge is now sitting in 7th place overall, 15 points in front of teammate, Annemarie Worst in 8th.

In the Men Elite race it was STEVENS rider, Marcel Meisen who fell a bit short of his own expectations. After a moderate start and a race to catch up, Marcel, who won his seventh German Championship title last weekend in superior style, still managed to finish 16th in a strong field.

Next weekend the 15th and final round of the UCI World Cup will be held in Hoogerheide, The Netherlands. The event will be the final test for the riders before leaving for the UCI Cyclo-Cross World Championships that will be held in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the end of January.
