In no less than five of the eight stages, the light blue and black jerseys on the eye-catching STEVENS Xenon Disc wheels could be seen in breakaway groups. The team of team manager Paul Tabak showed that they had a lot planned for their first race of the year right on the first stage, where Ivar Slik secured the mountains jersey and was allowed to ride in red for one day.

The 27-year-old Dutchman also proved to be the team's most conspicuous rider in the further course of the tour. Slik had to give up the red jersey after one day. But on the 4th stage from Alanya to Kemer he won the white jersey of the Beauties of Turkey classification. Thanks to another top performance on stage 6, when Slik was once again part of a breakaway group, he was able to extend his lead in the classification and win the classification in the end.

The Latvian Martin Pluto also rode in an eye-catching manner, competing with star sprinters such as Mark Cavendish and André Greipel, sprinting into the top ten twice and ending up in a strong 11th place overall in the points classification. The Briton Cavendish took a total of four stage wins. The overall winner was the Spaniard José Manuel Díaz ahead of the Australian Jay Vine and the Argentine Eduardo Sepúlveda.
