The STEVENS Sledge Max scored in the test by MTB-News with top-shelf specs for a reasonable price. For the drivetrain STEVENS completely relies on Shimano except for the Race Face cranks, for suspension with 170/160mm of travel it’s Fox Factory with Kashima coating all the way.

The first task for the new Comet Disc in the TOUR single-bike review in their 11.2017 issue was to hop on the scales: Exactly 7.0kg (15 lbs, 7 oz) is what it said on the display. This was the third best weight for a hydraulic disc brake-equipped bike ever measured by TOUR – one of the first positive remarks from the editors.

In Mathieu van der Poel’ case wearing the white jersey not only distinguishes him as the leader in the Cyclocross World Cup but also demonstrates how spotless his record is. After his successes in the first two UCI World Cup races the captain of Team Beobank-Corendon riding his STEVENS Super Prestige – painted in a special World Cup design - again was the fastest and superior rider.

The new Comet Disc, despite the modern hydraulic disc brakes, was an outright classic, no-frills and honest road bike, says RoadBIKE magazine in its 11.2017 edition. The test report continues: it was a nimble ride with direct and quick steering but also directionally stable especially at high speed – in short: ”a straight-forward, no-frills sportster.”

Mathieu van der Poel is still the unbeaten serial winner of the 2017/18 ’cross season. Also in the first race of the Super Prestige racing series in Gieten the Dutch Champion of Team Beobank-Corendon quickly took the lead on his STEVENS Super Prestige to start a solo ride after the first half lap.
