Victory at the UCI Cyclocross World Cup for Laurens Sweeck

Laurens Sweeck confirms his top form. At the 5th round of the UCI Cyclocross World Cup in Beekse Bergen, the Netherlands, Laurens Sweeck was able to take his second World Cup victory of the season and secure important points for the overall standings.

After his first big international victory at the World Cup in Maasmecheln, Laurens seems to have broken the knot, because already on Friday the 29-year-old Belgian was able to take the victory at the high-class Superprestige race in Niel, Belgium.

On the fast course in Hilvarenbeek, the Netherlands, the long home stretch was to be the deciding factor. Laurens was the first to sprint out of a group of five and left second-placed Lars van der Haar behind. With his second victory in a row, Laurens was able to take points away from the World Cup leader Eli Iserbyt, who is now only four points behind him.

Laurens' excellent form was already evident on Friday. With a victory in the second race of the Superprestige series in Niel, Belgium, he set a first sign and was able to clearly beat the World Cup leader Eli Iserbyt. After two of eight races, Laurens is now at the top of the overall standings.
