Annemarie Worst wins Cyclocross World Cup in Koksijde

With a brilliant performance Annemarie Worst from Team 777 won the seventh cyclocross World Cup this season. The 25 year old Dutchwoman claimed her first victory of the season on her STEVENS Super Prestige.

The World Cup, held in the dunes of Koksijde (Belgium), has been an absolute highlight in the cyclocross racing calendar for years. Characterized by many running and sand passages, the race is considered one of the toughest ever.

The race:

Early on, a group of 7 riders breaks away and dominates the race – until the second of seven laps: Then Worst attacked for the first time. Only her compatriot Denise Betsema can follow her on the sandy ground.

From that moment on, the two Dutchwomen lead the race in pairs. In the penultimate lap it is Worst again who is able to open up a small gap in the sand.

In the end, Annemarie Worst wins the exciting race with a 17-second lead and thus takes her first World Cup victory since January 2020. Congratulations, Annemarie!
