Whether it's pleasure laps with the Best Bike Buddies, fast training rides or long day tours – an all-round road bike has to excel over a wide range of applications. And it should be just as convincing on the flat as it is on long climbs and in downhill duels. In addition to a finely tuned frame geometry, this requires above all reliable drivetrain components. In the case of the Izoard Pro Disc Di2, it is the brand new Shimano 105 Di2 groupset.
With the 105 Di2 2x12-speed shift group, Shimano has launched its third road bike wireless component group after the exclusive Dura Ace and the popular Ultegra. It offers almost identical performance to the significantly higher-priced Dura Ace and Ultegra, which makes it an absolute top recommendation for all price-performance-conscious road cyclists.
The Di2 wireless technology offers ambitious riders perfect shifting performance in all conditions. The gears change lightning-fast and super-precisely at the touch of a button. Full concentration can remain on the action on the road ahead.
In addition to Di2 technology, the wireless version of the popular 105 also has an additional sprocket on the cassette and gear combinations specially adapted to the groupset. The 34Z or 36Z 12-speed cassettes allow an even finer gradation of the gear range and, in combination with 50/34Z compact or 52/36Z semi-compact cranks, enable a gear ratio of 1:1 or smaller. This means that even steeper climbs can be conquered effortlessly, and the 105 Di2 is also recommended for an even wider range of riders.
Compared to the brake levers of the mechanical 11-speed 105, the STI of the Di2 105 have been adapted in their ergonomics. They present themselves with slimmer brake levers whose optimised shape offers a larger contact surface for the fingers. The new brake levers improve response and brake control, while the more compact brake levers with newly shaped hoods offer optimised ergonomics for fatigue-free riding even after long hours in the saddle.
In addition to its high-quality specification, the Izoard Pro Disc Di2 also impresses with its striking appearance in fiery Chrome Red Black, which effectively sets off the lightweight carbon frame.
The Izoard Pro Disc Di2 is available to order now and will hit stores from spring 2023.
