Izoard Disc: "Race-Tipp" of RennRad Magazine

For issue 3-23, RennRad Magazine took a close look at nine models in the price-performance class. The STEVENS Izoard Disc impressed with its high-quality carbon frame and agile handling.

The testers also praised the well thought-out specification of the all-rounder, which was one of the sportiest models in the test field. For this, RennRad Magazine awards the Race Tipp.

"The Izoard is one of the models in this test field that is most clearly oriented toward racing use," the test editors find. "The model is based on a high-quality and torsionally stiff carbon frame. The seating position: sporty, quite low and stretched." The stack-to-reach value of 1.43 in the test frame size of 56 makes this clear. In the ride test, the Izoard Disc then also knows how to convince with very agile and reactive handling. "Especially in winding descents, the driving fun is enormous," said the test riders. Nevertheless, the high agility due to a clever design of the frame geometry is not at the expense of the smooth handling, which is at a "high level".

For all its sportiness, comfort is not neglected either. "The sloped carbon frame and the thin seat stays provide [...] a certain vibration damping," according to the test editors.

In terms of specification, the Izoard Disc also knows how to convince the RennRad editors. In relation to the competition in this price range is on a good level. The high-quality DT Swiss P 1800 aluminum wheels are highlighted for their robustness and stiffness-to-weight ratio. The 28 millimeter wide Conti Grand Prix tires impress with low rolling resistance and good puncture protection. The mechanical Shimano 105 group used also knows how to convince all along the line. Not least due to the chosen, sport-oriented gear ratio with 52/36 tooth cranks and a 11-32 cassette. In conjunction with the convincing brakes with 160-millimeter rotors a lot of forward drive is being possible, which can be stopped just as confidently again.

With top marks for the frame as well as for the handling, the RennRad Magazine editors awarded the Izoard Disc with the "Race Tipp" rating.
