At the Visegrad V4 Bicycle Race - GP Czech Republic on April 21st, Rok Korosec won another podium placing for Continental Team My Bike STEVENS from Austria. The Slovenian riding a STEVENS Comet Disc had been well-supported up to the finale by a very active team. In the sprint the 23-year old only had to defer to Alois Kankovsky (CZ) and Maciej Paterski (PL).
One day later the third of overall four races took place. Again it was the team’s goal to get Rok Korosec into a good sprinting position. As expected on a flat course the race ended in a bunch sprint. This time though Korosec got stuck in the peloton and wasn’t able to make a mark.
Already at the end of March, it was the Slovenian to represent his team’s red and black jersey on the podium of this race series, categorized 1.2 by the UCI. In the Grand Prix in Slovakia he also finished third. The race series is named after the Visegrad Group – Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary – who form an unofficial alliance.
Team My Bike STEVENS this year really can rely on Korosec’s sprint qualities. In the Grand Prix Izola in Slovenia he sprinted to place 7, and in the traditional Cherry Blossom Race in Austria he finished second.
