Strong results on the national and international stage
In the 2023/2024 season, Sommer confidently won the overall Cyclo-Cross Bundesliga standings with 517 points. Internationally, he achieved fifth place in the Swiss Cyclocross Cup (Elite) and 41st place in the 2024/2025 UCI World Cup standings, among other achievements. His other successes include twelfth place in the Elite World Cup in Val di Sole, 18th place in Dendermonde, and competing in the Tour de Romandie with the Swiss national team.
A driver with profile and personality
Sommer has been a passionate cyclocross rider since the U15 category, and in the winter of 2025/2026 he will be entering his tenth cyclocross season and his second in the elite category. Typical for him: the wetter, colder, and muddier the conditions, the more comfortable he feels. His strengths lie in explosive starts, short climbs, and sprints.
“We are very pleased to have Lars Sommer on the team, not only as a strong rider, but also as an exceptionally pleasant person. He fits perfectly into our structure and will play a decisive role in shaping our Bundesliga and international program,” says team manager Werner von Hacht.
Return to STEVENS and shared perspectives
The connection to STEVENS is not a new one. Sommer was already riding our bikes in his early U23 years. “I appreciate the passion that everyone at STEVENS brings to the table. It's hugely motivating – especially in cyclocross, where the team means everything,” says Sommer.
In addition to sporting goals, the change also strengthens international cooperation. Together with Tour de Suisse Rad AG, the official importer of STEVENS bikes in Switzerland, events such as training camps, technical workshops, and appearances at selected races in Germany and Switzerland are planned.
With Sommer on board, the STEVENS Racing Team is optimistic about the coming season – with the goal of competing for top positions both nationally and internationally while continuing to promote team spirit.
